Help! And essential oils.
This evening my friend Sheri came to the rescue with posterboard, markers of every colors, and a diffuser with all the oils. She made a "Jenny creativity" blend and now my whole apartment smells inspired (she can hook you up, too). Her purpose for coming was to help me plan the book I'm trying to write about Greece.
Yes, I'm already stuck. But my problem is that I have too many things to include and not a clear way to string them all together, where I should include narrative and where I should let the story be a stand-alone anecdote. I had two --potentially three-- openings that I wrote and her verdict was, "I like them all. Use them all."
In the words of Tassos, "Pos pos pos?"
But spending 4.5 hours talking about Thassos and telling my stories gave me ideas while also making me so happy, and it made her want to visit! That's really the whole goal. Perhaps I should have been tape recording our conversation...
Thanks to Sheri, I now have a web of ideas that I can include and figure out order later. She also picked up on a little saying I have, which made me laugh as soon as I saw it.
Thank you, my friend, for spending so much time with me, being a sounding board AND a storyboard. You are MY paparouna :)
