hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Dessert

Dessert

Did you ever hear that spelling advice: you can remember desert from dessert because dessert is twice as nice?

Let me tell you, dessert is 5,000x nicer than desert. Who wants to eat sand? Or smell arid land? Especially when you could be having orange olive oil cake with triple sec cream?

Exactly.

So, I'd given up sugar and alcohol for the last two weeks, and today I got to have them again. It's safe to say I swung in an unhealthy direction (not with the alcohol, but the dessert)--but soooo worth it!

To be fair, Jeremy and I split the dessert; we only ordered three, and one of them was fruit and cheese, so that hardly counts. But then there was the baklava...

Nevertheless, we visited a new restaurant called Quay. Mediterranean tapas, with Cypriot chefs pumping out DELICIOUS food. I asked our waitress to tell them "nostimo" and she did! They replied back Efharisto. (Delicious/ thank you).

Mezze. Those meatballs and the haloumi were uhhhmazing

Orange olive oil cake. So, so good.

The dessert was honey walnut cake with vanilla bean ice cream and orange olive oil cake (mentioned above). I was such a fan of both. And the entire dinner was two thumbs up. A little pricey for the portion size, but I'd go back. Those meatballs are legit!

Other highlights:

- Andrew calling us to love each other

- chance encounters at the gym

- talking to my friend in India, who is simply a joy. I miss her!

- submitting the Fulbright to stage 2!

Even rainy days can be good days :)
