Map of Thassos
Two things, plus an acknowledgement.
1. Today in Greek class, I asked my teacher if she'd heard the song Thes Pastitsio. She responded by handing me a worksheet, a set of lyrics with blank spaces, which was part of her assignment for the day. Listening to the song and filling in the missing words. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
2. My writing group met this evening. After countless hours and storyboards and staying up until the wee hours of the morning, I finally managed to turn in some pages that resemble an opening chapter. And today my group gave me feedback that made my heart sing (not Thes Pastitsio, although I did play that for them before workshop started). They told me they loved it. They want to go to Thassos. They want to meet these characters. They thought I was funny (!) and the piece was touching, and they liked my descriptions of place. <--I've never been good at this
I left feeling so encouraged. Granted, this is true every time we meet, and I admitted they are in all of my joyful moments. The Tuesday Crew, the Tuesday Tipplers, the Tuesday Writers Who Occasionally Meet on Wednesdays are my people. <3
Shout outs to: Sheri and Livia, for helping me organize the writing mess I had two days ago so I could submit something that wasn't a chaotic mess, and to Sarah, who has again made my day brighter.
