hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Thes Pastitsio

Thes Pastitsio

One important thing to note: today is the anniversary of the day that Thassos island burned, and my most heartfelt gratitude is that Archodissa was saved at the last moment, one year ago today.

That was my first thought when I woke up.

But my greatest joy relevant to today was not only my frappe, or dancing at the Greek festival in Rhode Island, but also this video. I can't handle it. I've listened to it eight times already. IT'S THE BEST!

Totally a pop culture reference and completely ridiculous. It's a remake of the #1 song this summer, "Despacito." Thes pastitsio means "You want pastitsio," which is like a Greek version of lasagna. Lyrics include "with vegetables from the garden, garden" and the rap begins with: "salt, pepper, and nutmeg."

Give me a week. I'll have it memorized.
