hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Baklava

Baklava

I am so exhausted, otherwise I'd elaborate more, but I had THE BEST day because I got to:

1. Speak a little Greek

2. Meet new people (including someone from Athens who may have a teaching connection for me!)

3. See my friend Livia, whom I met in Greece at Writing Workshops in Greece 2015.

4. Learn how to make baklava.

Seriously. Me. I learned how to make baklava.

And it is wicked good! The guy who taught us, Jim, makes the best. Ours was not quite as good as his, but it's way better than 90% of baklava you'll find in the USA. And I learned that baklava doesn't go bad and doesn't need to be refrigerated! That means I can avoid eating 13 pieces in a day lest I throw them out or give them away...

although if you want some, let me know asap :)
