hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Get. Out.

Get. Out.

I had lunch today with someone who found my Motif article on Schastea, the Elephant Room of Providence, known for tea and crepes, and contacted me on Facebook to compliment the article.

For the How I Met Your Mother  fans out there, this is a classic Doppler/Dahmer effect: it could be perceived as charming or creepy, but his profile seemed normal and he even had photos from a wedding in Greece, so that seemed like adequate credentials.

Well, my friends. It turns out this person--whose name I won't share, but imagine it's along the lines of John Smith--turned out to be Greek! His mother was born in Greece and he grew up in the Greek school, promptly rebelled, and is now getting back in touch with his roots, wishing he knew more of the language.

This was wonderful news!!!! We got to talk about Greece, and I got to volunteer myself to help set up for the upcoming Greek festival in Pawtucket. Such a happy surprise!

ps. We met at the original Elephant Room, and the crepes were heavenly as always.
