I hope you'll forgive me for not taking a picture of my actual brunch, but rather the flower-y tree I saw en route. I thought the colors were so vibrant--the purple contrasted so sharply against the green, and I had to take a picture as I hurried over to Amy's Place to meet Aryana, my latest couch surfer.
I just want to say that I have been so fortunate lately to host such cool people, and last night was no exception. Returning from a three-month stay in Dublin, Aryana was the kind of person who is an insta-friend. After five seconds of meeting her, I already felt like we were BFF. She has the true traveler's spirit: an open, positive, joyful vibe that is contagious upon introduction. And she was really forgiving when my phone failed to alert me that she'd arrived, and I was an HOUR late picking her up. But all of that was to say we had brunch today, and it was so wonderful!
I got to learn more about her fiancé (whom she met through couch surfing, by the way) and we talked about the joys and difficulties of learning another language, and we ate the most amazing falafel wrap. Like, hands down best falafel I've ever had. With homemade hummus, pickles, spicy aioli, feta. We ordered one to share and then had to order another.
So, yay for new friends, Amy's Place (yet again), and falafel wraps.
