My first morning back in Rhode Island, and my car doesn't start.
I had to have it towed to the dealership, where I spent four hours waiting, only for them to say it seemed like a freak accident and everything is running okay, the diagnostics were all okay.
Thus, my day did not get off to the start I had anticipated it would.
However, in the evening, one of my friends from the Writing Workshop last summer arrived to Providence, and we went out for dinner. Currently we're experiencing Restaurant Week, which means over 30 restaurants (of very good quality) are hosting multi-course meal discounts and other perks. Lisa Maria and I went to Duck and Bunny, which is the cutest "snuggery" I've ever been in.
I will add that my first joy, other than seeing my friend of course, was the fact that our waitress overheard me calling out my love for the Drunken Raspberry Hot Chocolate. So, as a surprise, she made extra on her last order and gave us mini cups, on the house. It Is SO GOOD I can't stop dreaming about it, which makes writing a blog hard work.
For Lisa Maria, that moment might have been when we cracked open the bottle* of tsipouro I brought back with me from overseas. We toasted Yia mas and dedicated the night to our Greek friends in Thassos. This one's for you!
