Farewells, yet another. (This is the 7th person in five days to bid farewell to...and it doesn't get any easier) BUT getting to spend part of Kasey's last day with her was a joy.
Also, the Ocean Mist. I didn't have "The Sulley" today, but this place always makes my heart happy--particularly after the sun made an appearance following a rainy morning.
One other small moment to mention.
As I was going for a walk in my (sort of) neighborhood, there was a man trimming the hedges in his front yard. He was surrounded in leafy remains, wiping sweat from his brow. Since I am on a "hi" kick, I said hello.
"Hey there, good evening!" he replied.
"Great job," I said, nodding to the clippers. "Keep up the good work!" As I started to walk away, he said:
"It's a heart."
"This bush. It's a heart. My wife and I are on the top floor, and when we look down, it's nice to see it."
I took a second look and tried to picture it from above, and then I found it, where the point of the heart was and the two rounded edges.
He was so proud of his work, and I loved the ideas of this secret aerial view. Something about that exchange just made me really happy.
I wished him a great evening, and he joyfully went back to work.
