Today it kept raining, on and off amid the sunshine. And not just a quiet pattering sort of rain, but thunderstorms and ominous clouds sort of rain. But while I was driving behind a truck on the highway, the water that its back wheels was turning up created a rainbow.
It was a beautiful reminder that even small rainbows can appear whenever there is rain.
Tonight was our farewell dinner with Yelena. We said goodbye at an "official" party last week, but this was our last supper. The Thursday Night Girls, the three amigas, will be one friend short after tomorrow, when she moves to Florida.
It was only fitting, then, for us to keep our Thursday night ritual of Piemonte pizza and wine at my house. Piemonte is the best little pizza shop in PVD, run by an amazing family who have always treated us as if we were extended members. Their Kurdish pizza is to die for (tonight we ordered two).
From one ta leme to another...
I'll see you soon, Yelena. It's been such an honor to be a part of your Rhode Island family. S'agapo yia panda <3
