hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Brother Hubbard

Today, I will tell you that Mark's favorite moment of the day was miraculously stumbling upon a kayaking adventure in Dublin. (Shout out to Jonathan of City Kayaks!) Hopefully I'll be able to tell the full story on Fushilou someday in the near future.

But my happiest moment was breakfast at a place called Brother Hubbard in Dublin, Ireland.

Because I'm going on 24 hours of no sleep, and during the day I walked 20k+ steps, biked, and kayaked, I'm going to have to keep it short.

It reminded me of Julian's, for all you Rhode Islander's out there, but smaller and with better lighting. They were organic everything and totally "green"  (even the sink in their bathroom used recycled water to fill the toilet bowl), but --shockingly-- with none of the pretentiousness you'd expect.

The food portions were appropriately sized, appropriately priced, and OH MY GOSH SO DELICIOUS AND PHOTO WORTHY.

I took a video of me pouring the hot chocolate (a cup of warm, melted chocolate given alongside a pot of warm milk) because I was in such heaven.*

*I'll spare you the video. For now.

I mayyy have forced Mark to share with me today so I could have both sweet and savory

Banana hazelnut chocolate pancakes. It was more beautiful (and delectable) in person, if you can imagine.
