I could not wake up this morning. I missed church, two people cancelled their plans with me, and by late afternoon, I was cleaning my house "for fun." So that tells you how my day was going.
I decided to put on real-ish pants instead of pajamas and go to Ren for Bible study, and I showed up to realize there was no study tonight.
But instead, they were showing the movie Miracle, about the USA Olympic hockey team in 1979-1980 (sorry if I'm wrong in that). Kurt Russel plays the coach, but I'd never heard of this movie until two weeks ago, when Mark and I were in Cambridge talking to Julian, our punting guide. The two of them got on a hockey discussion (not exactly my forté), and Mark was recommending the movie as a "super well done" film.
Today, I can testify that he was correct. It was a great movie, and one of those films that makes you feel good and uplifted and united to each other--it's inspiring as a true story and revives the American spirit.
I'm glad to have ended my day with it.
(Sorry that the cover photo is just a photo of the blooming trees in my backyard and has nothing to do with hockey. But maybe it has to do with miracles, depending on how you view life)
