M-dogg came to Providence with the intention of eating dinner at the newest Greek restaurant to grace RI with its presence...but it turns out the opening was delayed until June.
So, we did what we do best and improvised.
First, we met at Borealis, which is a cool coffee shop in East Providence. The owners are a young couple who spent several years in Colorado, and they brought their love of roasting coffee to RI; it's legit.
Then it was time to take M-dogg to my favorite restaurant in Providence (how this hasn't already happened yet, I don't know): North.
Our food, in pictures.
Better than the food, though, was being able to share my stories with M-dogg. He was the first person I emailed when I discovered The Global Scavenger Hunt, my go-to teammate. Had his school not threatened to fire him, he would have sold his car to be my partner.
Given the nature of the event, we decided it was safer that he did not go, just in case we would've ended up hating each other in the constant fatigue and 552 hours together.
I was able to give him his souvenir, too. He collects sand, so I tried to get the coolest sand I could find:
And the good news is, we still have another day to look forward to Greek food!
