First, I opened my mail this morning and saw that my dad had sent me a letter from my credit card company. It said that I qualified for an upgraded card-- which means I would get a checked suitcase on American Airlines without a $20 baggage fee!!!!!
The little things make me happy.
Second, I got to hang out with my beautiful friend, Yelena. It was bittersweet, though, because I found out today that she's moving to Florida at the end of this month. She's one of my "Thursday night girls" (my gym friends who meet regularly on Thursday's to drink, gossip, catch up, and eat...), and I was so excited for us all to be in RI this summer.
Anyway, I could say so much about Yelena, but I've reached my wakeful limit. She is and has been a faithful friend--seeing fortune tellers with me and eating Kurdish pizza and bringing me chocolates from home-- and it's easier to just pretend she's taking a vacation.
I'm really happy we were able to spend a few hours catching up and enjoying each other's company. The last time we were at Hope Street Pizza together was when she joined me on a pub crawl, and before that was another of our friend's farewell party...
Side note:dare I tell you that we spent time talking to the Greek owner??)
wishing you all the happiness as you journey onward, Yelena! We will miss you here in Lil Rhody.
