1. I've been saving a piece of chocolate from a giftbag I received a week ago because I wanted to eat it today (Sunday is my sugar cheat day), so the big moment finally came. I opened the "Awake" chocolate bar wrapper, took a small bite, and...it was so artificial tasting that I couldn't eat it. It must be the no-sugar thing in combination with my recent propensity to only eat 85% dark chocolate, but it caused me to reject chocolate. That's right: my growth as a person can be measured not only by the fact that I can cook while simultaneously using two burners AND my oven, but also in that I --Jenny Currier-- threw chocolate away.
2. Today was Palm Sunday, and as such, we received palms for the service. Last year, in preparation for Palm Sunday, I helped the alter guild fold the palms into crosses, and as I listened to the sermon today, I wondered if I could still remember how to do it. The short answer is yes! This brought me an undue amount of joy.
3. I attended bible study this evening, and we spent 45 minutes sharing our "WOW" moments from the week, the ways we've seen our prayers be answered or just awesome ways God has worked in our lives. It was like my Joyful blog on steroids. So cool to listen to and celebrate!
4. My mom texted me today when I was feeling discouraged, and she told me not to worry...to give things time. Then she added that I am her inspiration.
Well, Momma...Like mother, like daughter.
