Thinking of You
Just as the sunshine always gives me a reason to be thankful (which was NOT the case today), so does receiving mail, particularly unexpected mail.
Today, I received a card in the mail from my friend who lives in Ohio. We went to New Mexico State University together. She was the PhD student who supervised my research; she was the person who got me involved with the dance team; and she is the only person I keep in touch with regularly from college.
This card that I received today, however, was a surprise--it came for no other reason than to say, "Thinking of You." Inside, she included some articles from a magazine that highlighted the city of Boston, with some cool shops and eateries that I might not know about. (In truth, driving to Boston gives me anxiety, so the article proved to be quite useful.)
But THE BEST part: one of the highlighted features in this magazine clipping was a list of restaurants with Greek flair! --they call them "Greek restaurants," but I read the descriptions and I have my hesitations. Nevertheless: this might be the only reason I have to visit Boston! And it's all thanks to Anna!
So, this thank you is to Anna, and to all people who send cards to their friends simply to say I'm thinking of you.
