Brevity is the key to wit, and also the key to Monday blogs.
One of the best things about today was having the opportunity to do Body Pump at the Brown gym for free. Body Pump is a choreographed weight-lifting class set to music, and each track (or song) has a different muscle group focus. I've been doing Body Pump since I was a teenager --yes, it's that old-- and I remember doing releases that were single digits. As a point of reference, they just launched their 100th release.
Thus making me 100 years old.
Anyway, the gym I used to go to in Rhode Island had Body Pump, but I haven't gone to that gym in a while, and I haven't done the class in six weeks. I've missed it! Body Pump and I sort of have a love/hate relationship (not as strong as my love/hate relationship with spin class, though, or the stairmaster, or the elliptical, or....). It was just nice to feel like I was making my muscles work hard again because when I'm at the gym doing free weights by myself, I tend to be a ninny. Body Pump pushes me to work harder, and that feels good.
ALSO: the weather was gorgeous today, and I was able to go for a mid-day stroll.
I'm telling you--anytime there's sunshine, it gets added to the list!
