So, yesterday was an amazing day, in every way. Camels and pyramids, markets and tea, henna and new friends--overflowing happiness.
Today was the counterbalance of yesterday. It wasn't bad, necessarily, but it just couldn't compete. It was long, tiring, and at times disappointing because many of the things we tried to do were closed, either because it's a Friday (Muslim holy day) or because the Pope is in town.
Side note: we reallllyyy wanted to see the Pope. Didn't happen.
However, at the end of the day, we ran into the Flying Snitches and they kindly treated us to some sweet treats, and it was cool to hang out with them because we haven't had a chance to do that yet. And from there Mark and I went to the Ritz Carlton for the third time in 24 hours and I had the dinner of champions: an espresso martini and three scoops of ice cream.*
*where 3 Egyptian scoops = 1/2 an American scoop
It made me happy, and now I can pack my shorts away because we are headed to...
the land of waffles, chocolate, and beer. Who knows the answer?
