My unofficial motto for the year--well, it might as well be my official motto--is "First, Seek," which was the call to fasting and prayer that we received on January 1st. I didn't realize then that it was going to be my motto, only that I was excited to give it a try, but I have since internalized this message a profound way.
i.e., it has become my motto.
So, my happiest moment came when I was able to share all of the joys I've experienced this year with the pastor at my church. I spoke with him in December, a couple of weeks before Christmas, back when I was in a very different place. But I haven't had a chance to tell him what's changed in the last 3.5 months.
Not everything in the fundamental way of who I am, but my choices and my desires and the things that I'm seeking and the way I'm seeing God move every day are drastically different from before. I was honestly overflowing with joy and thankfulness this morning while recounting all of these stories. And his delight in my delight just further increased what was already abundantly full.
It's what I'm learning to be true: the water into wine. The twelve basketfuls of leftover loaves and the fish. God gives abundantly more than we ask for when we turn what we have over to Him.
