I thought my thankfulness today was going to be a simple joy: the beautifully scented aroma bead I have in my car as a gift from my friend Jeremy. He's a science teacher by day, but a candle-making-aroma-bead entrepreneur by night. (You can see all of the cool stuff on his company's website, which is where I pilfered the cover photo).

My vanilla lavender beads are in a sachet that I keep on the dash of my car, and with my defrost being on full blast thanks to recent snow, my car smells so delightful! I noticed it especially today, so that was the grateful moment I was hanging onto.

But THEN I arrived home from work, and what doth appear?  An unexpected package in the mail with a return label from Kentucky.

I was definitely not expecting anything from Kentucky.

I had no idea what it was, but I figured it was some swag that I am relentlessly signing up for or something.

It turned out to be THE BEST THING EVER: 100 coffee filters for a 4-cup machine!!!!!

[insert dumbfounded expressions]

So, the other day when I blogged about coffee grinds getting into my coffee, part of the reason it happened is I have a 4-cup coffee machine, but for the last two years have been unable to find coffee filters to fit this small machine. I've tried grocery stores, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, CVS (multiple locations), and then gave up.

So, every morning for the last two years, I have been cutting the coffee filter so it will fit inside the tray. (I refuse to buy a bigger machine because the one I have dispenses the perfect amount of coffee, it's small and easy to transport, and I've had it for nearly a decade.)

And today some Good Samaritan out there took pity on me and sent me filters that will make my coffee experience so much easier!! I have my suspicions of who it is, but nevertheless, thank you "out there" for this act of random kindness that made my day!

Reunited! Mr. Coffee, meet your filter.

Reunited! Mr. Coffee, meet your filter.

Ps. I'd be remiss to not mention that another soul, my namesake friend, GAVE me a yoga mat when I asked to borrow hers for the weekend. She had an extra, and told me I could keep it. Thank you!!!!

pps. That reminds me that I should thank the person whose yoga mat I borrowed for what I thought would be one night but accidentally kept for several months. I hope your yoga experience is all that it can be once again!. Thank you for still being my friend.
