Today was an absolute delight! Maybe because I could sense the end was near...it's been a very hectic week with meetings and projects and articles and interviews, and on average I've been getting 4-5 hours of sleep per night. In January I averaged 7-8 (for the first time ever!), so I'm feeling the burden of exhaustion.
However! The most glorious thing happened today! I've been working on these Lenten meditation booklets for my church (which has kept me awake until 3am on occasion), trying to put everything together and format it into, well, a book. But I've never made a "booklet" before, so after consulting Word's templates and Google, I ended up 1,000% confused and certain I would destroy the whole project.
Long story short, I completed the document itself (finally!) and took it to the Diocese office because someone there had promised me she could use the copier and it would figure it all out for me. And BLESS THE HEAVENS it worked!!!! Houston, we have made a book!
I'm so excited to share it with everyone. So that was the BIG JOY of today.
The other happinesses were:
63 degrees and sunny. In February. In New England!
My friend sent word that a Greek restaurant is opening very soon in Providence, and one of the owners (they're a married couple) is Greek! I'm sure it'll be more like Greek/Italian/American fusion, but I'm delighted nonetheless.
Sacred cow granola! The creators of this local granola emailed and said they made a batch without almonds for me if I wanted it! THIS IS THE BEST. I loved their granola before, but now that they went the extra mile for me, I'll be their devoted fan until the end of time.
and it's Friday! The weekend is before us. Time to eat the final donuts. Maybe drink some hot chocolate. Go all out. Because Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday (ie Mardi Gras), and then Lent begins, and changes will begin again. But this is life, the ebb and flow, and that's what keeps it interesting.
