hi there.

Welcome to my blog. I'm spending a year capturing happiness, and I invite you to come along as I journey toward a more joyful living. I also write about travel, food, and matters of the spirit. Hope you enjoy!

Musana

Musana

Musana means sunshine.

It's also the name of an organization in Uganda that was created in 2008 after three 20-year-old woman decided to spend a summer abroad. The story of this organization is incredible, and the impact they have had, and the children and community they serve--you have to watch it.

(I made the mistake of watching this while at the gym on the treadmill, and I nearly started crying in front of a room of unsuspecting people. So. Just be aware of that.)

The story begins at minute 49:30:

This video started my day, and it's stories like these that serve as inspiration for what a life well-lived can look like. How to serve others? How to seek God first? These are big questions I have for this year, and I love that this story begins with three women praying for direction.

Fun fact: My church, The Church of the Redeemer, is the direct result of three women who dedicated themselves to praying about it. We're about to celebrate our 100 year anniversary of being on Hope Street.

There is a follow up to the video above, and again, I almost cried. Here is what an outpouring of love can look like.
