I almost didn’t go to this house concert, but at the last minute, I figured it might be fun and I could always leave early. Plus, the pastor of Sanctuary was the “opener,” so at least I could support him and see some old church friends who aren’t in my home group anymore.
But man alive, the girl who was the main event was AMAZING! I’m not really a hardcore music lover in the traditional sense. I like Greek music and cello/piano and worship music and anything my friend Lauren sings, but I’m not interested in going to concerts. Other than NeedtoBreathe (my favorite band), I stopped fooling myself into thinking I was cool enough to enjoy music events. This girl, though—Taylor Leonhardt—can sing. And her stories that went with the songs spoke straight to my heart. I nearly cried twice. And when she wasn’t making me cry, she was making me laugh because she’s hilarious and totally down to earth.
Long story short, I bought two of her CDs and I’m a fan for life now. You should check out her music and melt into her lyrics and songs. She’s really talented, and I’m calling it now: her songs will be picked up by a great label or as the theme song of a box office hit, perhaps featuring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Sunday in the Park. Just wait and see :)
ps. I got my hair done, and rediscovered Snapchat...
