I've never really participated in Cyber Monday before. Believe me, it's not because I don't like a good deal; it's because I'm never prepared this early in the year (it's still NOVEMBER) to know what to get people for Christmas. I'm the kind of shopper who just shows up to events, like craft fairs, or arrives at the mall and expects to be inspired. I like to let the vast array of creativity wash over me like the sea, and I will know the right gift when I see it!
This usually results in a lot gifts for Jenny, a few gifts for other people, often in a lopsided arrangement of 9 gifts for one person and zero for everyone else, meaning I have to do this again tomorrow.
But this time was a weird mix between the two. I actually HAD considered a few of the gifts I wanted to buy, and while I wasn't pursuing them today, I stumbled upon Facebook ads or the Amazon homepage and BOOM there there were in front of me. On Sale No Less.
This was really exciting. I like buy gifts for people, and also feeling like I'm getting a good deal.
But there were other joyful moments, too. The first one was receiving a clear message from the Lord, the kind that honestly freaked me out because my phone started playing music that I did not set it up to play, which had a very directed point for me to stop what I was doing. I will have to explain this more some other time.
Second, do you remember yesterday--I said there was another world traveler better suited for the New York Times job and that I left him a comment? Well, I believed he would respond, and he did! He read my application essay and said he thought I had a very good chance at getting it! I appreciated the kind words, even though his pictures from "the third least visited country in the world" would argue otherwise.
Lastly, my boss is back from Greece. She finally understands (in a tip of the iceberg way) my love for the country, and that made me happy :)
