I don't know if I've already blogged about this or not, but I'm obsessed with this song, "Reckless Love." It's just so wonderful. We sing it at Sanctuary, and the first time I heard/sang it, I basically cried. Lyrics are included at the end, or you could listen to this video.
Today there was a joint service at Sanctuary between the Downcity and North parishes. Since we are a series of neighborhood churches, North is the first branch off from Downcity that was built into the north side of Providence, and currently there is an East Side plant in progress. But this was "Vision Sunday" and as such, everyone gathered together in one space to worship and talk about the--wait for it--vision for the upcoming year.
Everything about the service was amazing. I've not seen the North location yet, so it was cool to see where my friends have been gathering for the last year, and to see so many faces I've never seen before! The music was beautiful. The fried plantain treats were delicious. The sermon was inspiring. The community and fellowship was so welcoming and energized. And at the end, we sang both Reckless Love (which went in line well with the end of the sermon #BreakTheJar) and the Sanctuary original, "In Our Time" (which I've blogged about before), and everyone's voices together with the music was so...magnetic and otherworldly. I envision heaven being a lot like that.
Definitely my joyful moment.
Next on the list, though, was a reunion with Jeremy in which we dined on Thai food and sushi. This harkened back to my PF Chang days--something Jeremy also remembers--but the food was fantastic! It's a new spot in Pawtuxet Village that I would be happy to return to. The quality for the prices is extremely reasonable, plus it's BYOB (which we didn't know then but now we do and will plan accordingly!), and their fried bananas a la mode were legit dessert.
(It seems as though the common thread of my day was eating fried fruit of the banana family.)
OH OH OH!
And I just realized! This week (as of today) I finished three books! Granted, I've been reading them for various lengths of time, between 3 months and three weeks, but boom boom boom. All done. Now to finish the other six or so books I'm in the midst of...
