Sanctuary was cancelled today on account of boiler issues, but instead of abandoning service, Pastor Andrew set up a livestream on Facebook for his sermon, and my home group had a viewing party.
We got together as we do every Wednesday night, but this time we had breakfast and worship (Nicole played her ukulele) and it was such a fun, unexpected way to spend a Sunday morning. It strikes me as beautiful, to think that all across the city, people were bowing their heads together in prayer. Something about taking church out of a building and putting it into houses and apartments around Providence makes my heart glad.
I hope our voices were a joyful sound in the neighborhood today.
