I ❤️ PVD
First of all: please note the cover photo. I can run for 10 minutes and get that view. Come on.
Second of all: As tribute to the fact that I actually have a night to spend at home, I made dinner! I resurrected the sweet potato nachos, guys!! AND I went on a limb and grilled some Brussels sprouts! I also made hummus for my writing group tomorrow, but it came out really garlicky. I may just have to eat this one by myself...
Lastly: today was the second day in the last five that someone I knew honked at me while I was walking to work. Considering two of those days were weekends, I feel really special! Today it was my friend Raquel from Ren Church. I love the fact that I live in a city--a proper city, with real people--and I can still bump into someone I know, or run into them whilst commuting. The small town girl in me appreciates this about Providence...and all of Rhode Island for that matter.
If I haven't waxed poetic recently about Rhode Island and how much I love it, well, guess what, guys? I love this place. If you don't know the story of how I ended up here, you can check out the story that appeared in Cornerstone Magazine a couple of years ago. The short version is that I packed up my car and drove from New Mexico to Rhode Island with no job, no friends, no place to live--just a belief that God was calling me here.
I owe Him a super hard high five. Thanks, God, that your providence brought me to Providence.
